It's a word game, kinda like Mastermind, only using actual real five-letter words.
Guess the word, and it shows 1) incorrect letters, 2) correct letters in place, and 3) correct letters out of place. You get 6 tries to guess the word. There's a new word each day and you can only play once a day, and it keeps track of your stats.
Everyone gets the same word, so giving away the word of the day is frowned upon, in case you haven't played yet today. (I mean, you can, if you just want to be a jerk.) People love to compare how many tries they used to get today's word.

It’s become a bit of a craze here in the uk; will probably run out of steam by the end of Feb but it’s quite a good little game nonetheless.
I used to play Mastermind back when it came out. I couldn't even remember how the game was played. I had to watch a video to refresh my memory. Im colorblind which never helped. I liked the game, played it a lot until Trivial Pursuit came out.
I can't imagine how much tougher it would be with 5 letters as opposed to 4 colors and 4 spaces.
I'm glad it made a comeback.
