I'd like to demo how my strategy outlined above works, so SPOILER ALERT! Don't look below if you want to try today's.















Started with "irate." Excellent first word because it has 3 vowels and 2 of the most popular letters. The hits weren't enough for a guess, so I went with "sound." The two guesses contained ...[text shortened]... e second position and so had to be in the 4th) and there's only one word that fits that combination.
I'll be the first to admit that my implementation of your strategy sucks balls.

If anyone feels restrained by only getting one per day, the iphone app store has one called WORDUS that allows you to play more than one per day. I don't know if they have an upper limit. It seems to play exactly like WORDLE.

Everyone gets the same word. You can test this out yourself: try accessing from a different device or different browser.

Maybe we are getting ourselves confused.

I think WORDLE uses the same word for everyone and only changes it once a day.

WORDUS is a totally different app, even though it plays in the same way. But it allows you to play more than one word per day so there is a multitude of different words.

When you complete the game, click where it says "share".
That will copy the results to your clipboard.
Then just paste it into your post.
(if you are using a device other than a computer, I don't know. 🙂 I'm using a laptop.

No, I meant when people play these copy-cats games that let you play multiple times a day, they don't get the same word as everyone else.

With Wordle, it is the same word as everyone else that day and that is half the fun.
