What are they for? I had hoped to get a hard copy of a game, but I couldn't see how to do it. Is it possible?

They are just a way of moving old games out of your main view. If
you want an hard copy in 'PGN' format then please see the previous
post.

I thought maybe it was because the site was so new and experimental that they had to write the forums on yellow legal pads.

I think they mailed the pad back and forth, which was kind of slow. 😕
