Reserved for beautiful ladies only, Smaug. 🙂

In hindsight, of course, I agree with your bottom line pigeon hole of 'naievete' even though 'benefit of the doubt' was in play at the time.

Benefit of the doubt? There was zero.

Glad you finally realize this user was not on the level. Great sleuthing, Sheerluck Holmes.

Always slow to think ill or believe the worst about anyone, Phlab, giving the benefit of doubt and treating others better than they deserve with ease.

Respect and trust are earned, GB... not to be placed in a brown bag and handed out as party favors.

Agree (qualification: respect is often due the office/position if not the individual). A relaxed attitude toward strangers is still in my 'brown bag'.

If you gave the regulars half the benefit of the doubt you give complete strangers maybe you wouldn't betray yourself as the stubborn naif that you really are.

Just sayin'...

There is a guy on the street playing the horn. He tells you he plays first chair at the symphony.

There you are listening to him hit notes off, miss notes, just sounding like crap.

You decide to shake his hand and tell him how wonderful it is to meet this guy... this guy who obviously just lied to you.

That is what you did in this thread. All the evidence shows this user in no way was any kind of good chess player (see my first post page one and more), yet you welcome them with open arms as others do not buy the lies.

It might be naivety on my part to think anyone could be as gullible as you. This is truly mind numbing.

Darv, sometimes it becomes necessary to stop along the way to take corrective action, if there's sugar in the gas tank or gravel in a hubcap.
