It's not normal for a fully grown man to have children around for sleepovers - correct! It is perfectly normal for children to have other children over for sleepovers. So how about a fully grown man with the emotional age of a child? If his perspective is the same as the childs then it might seem perfectly normal that he want to have friends of the same emotional age.
I openly admit to sleeping in the same bed with female friends of mine at times (all over 21 before anyone jumps on me!). Nothing happens, there's nothing sexual in it, it's just nice to be close and comfortable with someone. Are you going to accuse me of having a grope while they were asleep?
We know little to nothing about the facts and what little we do know has been given to us by the popular media - never a 100% reliable and unbiased sourse because they have to pander to popular opinion and have to sensationalise stories to make sales.
Dammit, why do I feel I have to defend the guy? I actually think he's probably guilty. I just hate the way people condemn others on suspicion and accusation alone, just becasue they are different & screwed up & we don't understand them.
from what I have read it sounds like this is the final stage of an ongoing investigation. It could be recently they obtained some vital evidence (through the search warrant?) to enable the DA to take him to court. Everybody must agree that he does not have a "normal" relationship with children - whether there was any actuual abuse though will no doubt be revealed when it goes to court

I still believe these parents to be as guilty as the offender.I think a lot of it has to do with "My Pete is friends with Michael Jackson" and the few thousand dollars in the pocket dont hurt either.Would these parents have allowed their kids to sleep over at some 48 year old bus driver living in a trailer? I think not.

You're right, this is a criminal case as it should be, and can't be settled for money out of court. That doesn't mean that the origional complaint wasn't intended to get the complainer into a civil court to get cash. And even if it is a criminal case now, will the boys family be giving all the newspaper interviews & book rights away for free?

I do believe he did it and have always felt that he was off-the-wall wierd. I guess I want to doubt the charges for the kid's sake more than anything. I really hope he's ok.
This case can become both disturbing and interesting in more than one way. I've heard that a psychologist is treating the boy in question. I wonder when somebody will raise the issue of "Implanted Memory" cases. Psychologists have plaid very dubious parts in such cases: Are the memories real or were they "suggested" by the therapist ?
