Then watch the games on the BBC website, which has announced it will be providing live coverage of all the games it is showing on TV over the net.

I used to work for a japanese co. when the last world cup was on. We asked if we could have extended lunch breaks and make up the time in the morning or eveing. The non-footy fans even offered to provide cover.

They refused.

Queue several requests for afternoons off.

However, they had not realized the strength of feeling footy generated until the first game involving a home country. Scotland, One of the guys in R & D turned up in the full gear including kilt, sporan, bag pipes face paint and a ginger wig.

The japanese were gob smacked!! They all had their photo taken with him and later that day they agreed to our request.

It still makes me chuckle thinking of him walking into the canteen just before going down the pub to watch the game. He looked the business.

😀

My mates dad has invested in a few German war helmets in red and white to wear during matches, and I am going shopping for the customary england top + flag to wrap around waist at the weekend. "We are the Champions" and "Football's coming home" have been downloaded onto the computer. Flags on car and outside the window. I'm ready.

COME ON ENGLAND

The whole World Cup thing is absolutely huge here in Australia. It has been so long since we have qualified. Should make the second round with wins over Japan and Croatia, the game against Brazil will be another question.

I would rather the team all come down with some flesh eating bacteria than be compared to the French.

How many Frenchmen does it take to defend France? Nobody knows, they've never done it before.

What's the difference between an Aussie wedding and an Aussie funeral?

One less drunk at the funeral.

I'm actually going to a funeral today so I'll let you know if everyone is smashed.

I'm not too surprised they were gob-smacked.

The Scots managed not to qualify.

There was open bar at the wake after the funeral, so there may not have been drunk Aussies at the funeral but there were at the wake.
