My VLC media player has video and audio capture devices...but it doesn't tell me how to use them.

Is it possible to capture streaming audio and if so how?

I use VLC too but I never got round to saving streaming media with it - I know you can but it seems to be pretty complex to me.
I use a program called Orbit with which you can do it with just a few clicks.
