Ashes lost - and Ponting head on the block?
Rugby lost - Bledisloe Cup Tucked up in NZ for another year.
Basketball Lost - Tall Blacks men's basketballers beat Australia 100-78 to claim Oceania Championship and higher world championship seeding
Bad week for the Aussies in sport but as a kindred Anzac they'll be back strong. Ponts is one of the finest batsmen and is a fine tactical capt... bit loud gibbed though.
Robbie Deans has the Wallabys going better at every outing and they don't drop the ball.. they were a Mortlock away from winning.
Aus Basketball is fine too... quite surprised at the result ...normally thrash us. It is just the sixth time the Tall Blacks have ever beaten Australia
If you're looking for a recent Aussie success: Steve Hooker was awesome in the world athletics championships on Saturday (pole vault). Carrying an injury, he waited as long as possible before entering, knowing he didn't have many jumps in him. So he comes in 35cm higher than everyone else. One clearance - one gold medal.
Originally posted by Zort BoyI like Vettori. It would be a very bold move , however , if you think about it, the Aussies have plenty of good batsmen and no quality ,consistent spinner. So yeah, why not?
I want Daniel Vettori to play for Australia. He can have Ponting's job.
At least the Aussies have thrashed Englend in the one-dayers. I hope they make it 7-0, though it will still be a small compensation for the ashes tragedy!
Lol Vettori top scored for NZ with 25 as they slumped to an easy defeat by India in the 2nd odi.

Aussie won the netball and beat the Boks at Rugby..something NZ failed to do again this week.
First time NZ has lost 3 in a row to Boks since 1949.
