My vote, Tommy Emmanuel: Try this Youtube on for size.
Like Leo Kottke on steroids. Nobody should be able to play that fast and accurate. Its his own composition, 2 of them, one called the hunt and the other 'the tall fiddler'. You know anyone better, show me.

This one, just percussion, using only the guitar:

Tommy Emmanuel is a kiwi he said so in a radio interview the other day in Auckland... You nicked Phar Lap but surely not the golden fingered boy from Point Chev 😛
Well then NEW ZEALAND's greatest guitarist then!
BTW, Tirau Dan is a great photographer:

um sorry but ** Gotchya!! I was only kidding Tommy is the greatest Aussie Acoustic guitarist. we have him over here regularly and he does love nz like his second home.. we'd love to keep him :-) We have Peter Posa. He was great enough to play with Frank Sinatra and all the greats..
Not aussie as far as i know but my vote is for Andy Mckee. He is much slower and mellower than the first link to Tommy Emmanuel but I've never heard a guitar sound that beautiful when played by anyone else. I'm not sure that drifting is his best song but its very clever, the drumming on the guitar actually really works and holds the song together instead of just being flashy but pointless.
Originally posted by sonhouseWow, i like the third one. I thought classical guitar was played on nylon strings with ones fingers? Not detracting from his genius though, what an amazing player!!
