I recommend everyone down load this software. The latest versions seems to have improved functionality. Personally I scan my computer dialy with both AVG & Norton anit virus software.

I just installed it, ran it, and found 4 infected files...but it didn't delete or quarantine them...any idea how to do this manually?

It had better be better than the last 'cuz AVG is crap. Spend the $40US and get Kaspersky Anti-Virus, it ain't free but it works.

You need to go to the 'Virus Vault'

Totally disagree, even the free version is better than both Norton and McAffee

I'll give you that, but Norton and McAfee are crap aswell, what does that have to do with Kaspersky?

AVG free is actually pretty good. It now scans my incoming and outbound email from my fairly non-standard email package without any setting up at all really, which is quite neat.

Any decent virus protection will do that. But the real question is how up to date do they keep it. I know a ton of people that have had AVG and all of them have switch to something that actually works.

Well, most of them will do it so long as your Email package is Outlook or Eudora, otherwise you're stuffed or have to go through loads of messing about.

They seem to keep it up to date. Current definitions are from the 17th December, that's good enough for me.
