Just back from Antigua. What a blast. Just eating, drinking, and sunning. (Jake was w/ Nana and Papa in Fla. so it was just me and the mrs.) Funny thing happened while I was traveling. I was looking at everybody as a potential rhp(er) After all, this is becomming a big international community.
In a rush to leave, I took just one book. It was a book on openings. I read it poolside for a total of about 15hours!! My wife was making fun of me calling me her nerdy chess husband!!🙂 Anyway, I really got into a number of the variations of the ruy lopez ( my opening of choice), the closed sicilian (which I really needed because the sicilian has always thrown me off the familiar path), and a bit of the French, and Nimzo stuff.
I also picked up (stole from the library) chess player by Keyes. It was a biography on Paul Morphy. Wholly entertaining. I'd thought I'd send it to Dave to add to his library if he didn't already have it. And don't worry about the stolen part, Dave. We contributed a few paperbacks and the place was terribly overpriced anyway!!🙂) hehehe.
Anyway, Let me know if you want it. I'd email you but I think I have the wrong address. Or, if anyone here knows his mailing address and trusts me with it, they can let me have it.
