FYI Mokko is my sister. So we decided to have a little fun and start a thread where we insult each other. Ooops big mistake. I guess we were too good at it cause the mods, took it down. I would like to apologise for both of us. we both have a weird sense of humor. I think from now on we'll try and keep it reasonable. sorry again

Perhaps the mod figured it was joking, but still had to do his duty?

i guess it depends on how literally the mod interprets his/her brief. yes, technically there was abusive language there, but if it is seen to be in jest by those participating and those looking on (no-one is alerting the posts) then where's the harm in letting them slug it out?

at the end of the day, mods have to follow the policies set out by the site admins, but there seems to be room for interpretation in cases like this..

Why do I always miss the "good" ones?

Why not let everyone 'just slug it out'. Check out the forums at these sites:

www.uchess.com
www.gameknott.com
www.chessknights.com

Oh, I'm sorry... they are all gone now. It had little other to do with the fact that users start crap, more come in... run off other users... and all that is left is a few dweebs fighting each other in a forum that ends up getting closed.

It has happened here before, and it may soon happen again if mods don't once in a while 'break something up'.

yeah i agree that sometimes mods have to step in - if the fighting is serious. but as i say, if it seen to be in jest and is not bothering anyone, where's the harm?

You would be useless as a mod if you can't figure out why I stopped that.

you intimated that you figured it was a joke, so no i don't see it. did anyone alert it?

i don't know if i would be useless as a mod - the body of opinion seems to be that the forums are currently over-modded, and i would probably mod less on the whole than the current crop of mods. i don't think the forums would necessarily descend into anarchy.

none of this is meant as a criticism of you personally or the job you are doing BTW. it's a difficult job i know.

Cool beans, I had shot you off a PM for more info. It was alerted, but I had already been reading it and scratching my head.
