Other than the Clash, the Libertines and Bruce, there are some excellent choices here.
Well done everyone who said Coldplay. Also The Darkness.
Personally I would add the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Massive Attack (woo, controversial), and of course the Doors.
Ultra-controversial: three-quarters of everything the Ramones have ever done, and Smog (don't hate ya, just don't love ya).

I have the most abolutely seething contempt for the Manic Street Preachers. I hate them so much it disturbs me.
There is one band I hate more than them that everyone else seems to love.... Muse. My contempt for them comes from the fact I've had the misfortune to actually meet them.
Originally posted by hopscotchThat's okay, I recently decided that 30% of the tracks I've covered for yours are rubbish/unsuitable and so will have to be replaced with something else. I'm thinking a Smiths medley perhaps, how does that sound?
I have had terrible difficulties in getting your rhp mix cd to you. Ok, I lie, I've just been very lazy. The cd has been ready for months but the post office is a long walk.
Thanks to everyone who said "Coldplay". They were the 1st one that popped into my head when I read the thread title.
