Anybody go see this yesterday? We went to see it last night, and I thought it kicked friggin @ss!! In my opinion, it could be the best Batman movie, yet.
um...there's really not much else to say about it. Good movie. You can get back to reading the cool threads, now.
Originally posted by Shanshu311I saw it too. I concur wholeheartedly, it was the greatest Batman movie ever. Huge emphasis on the "beginnings" of Batman, as the title implies, focusing mostly on his motivations as opposed to the mechanics of becoming Batman (although there is plenty of that too). Fear is a major theme running through the movie, the control of it, the exploitation of it, the effects of it, the power of it, etc... Nice to see something other than special effects being the focus of a superhero movie!

Having said that, the special effects and set design were awesome too.😀 Having read a few of the Dark Knight comics, I was surprised at how well the movie recreated the style and feeling of those "graphic novels". I loved the cityscapes, the dank rain-drenched Narrows neighbourhood and Wayne Manor especially.
But the real star of the show was the acting. Christian Bale surprised me a lot. Seeing the previews I got a little worried, but he was perfectly cast. He really conveys guilt, anger, determination, radiates power as Batman, etc... Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman were great as Bruce Wayne's confidants, Gary Oldman was seamless as Lt. Gordon, and Liam Neeson and Cillian whats-his-face were great as the villains. Katie Holmes seemed a little out of place (cherub cheeks are too happy for Gotham), but her nipples were "outstanding" if you know what I mean. 😲 It must have been cold on the set. 🙄
All in all, a wicked, highly engrossing and entertaining movie.
(Oh yeah, the Batmobile was awesome too!!)

Cool.....I am a Frank Miller purist when it comes to Batman but it does sound like this is a pretty good one. I will have to make arrangements to go and see it. Thanks for the reviews 🙂
Hurry along, now.

I've heard quite a few people say that this is the best Batman movie ever (excluding the 1967 Adam West / Burt Ward classic, of course)...
considering the fact (my opinion, actually, not so much a 'fact'😉 that the prevous Batman movies kind of sucked, perhaps there's hope for the franchise after all...
I loved Batman comics when I was growing up (my brother and I bought a ton of them during 60s and early 70s)... but it really is hard to take Batman seriously as a live-action movie figure... he just looks totally ridiculous...
