Physical things....rainbows....the Redwoods.....the Grand Canyon...London

Mental things......some very talented people have written words and others have made music that take my breath away.

Emotional things...two very loving people have given me breath and one other has given breath to my sons.

Seeing a wild animal in their own habitat (wolf, bear, mountain lion, elk) and listening to them at night.
It's hard to fall asleep when you hear the wolves howling in the distant mountains...it is magical and enchanting.

Also hard to fall asleep when you are camping in King's Canyon CA (US) and a black bear is sniffing around your campsite and TENT! The ranger said not to worry, but of course he is miles away and safe at his station!

Black bears are not so much to worry about...the ones that hang around the campground have learned that they can pick up scraps of food from your leftovers. They do not see you as food but they know you have food.
Grizzly bears I would worry about, if you are seen as a threat to them or their babies, they will definitely go after you. Again, you are not food but you can be a threat.

I have a funny story about my husband's hunting trip last year. He was way off in the mountains and hunting elk. So he was calling on the elk bugle to get them to come in, and there was one calling back to him. It was getting very close and he was getting ready to shoot as soon as it came through the trees. But what came through the trees first was a mountain lion that obviously was listening to his elk bugle and thought he was an elk. Well, he never did get the elk because the cat scared it away.
So, don't be calling elk unless you want mountain lions also!
😛

Yeah, this one may have weighed 150 pounds, but he did look HUGE as he made his daily forage for Baby Ruth bars and left-over toast. 😛

Truth... even when it's ugly, astringent and bothersome.

🙂 It was a wonderful walk. Nothing is like the light of the low sun shining through the trees. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=25120&l=9d0de&id=802830955
