Been thinking of installing a hive in the garden. Anyone out there with experience who can give a noob some pointers?

They have an apiary in Heaton Park, near to where I live. This informstion is probably of no use to you whatsoever though.

No experience but watch out if your neighbours buy some bee eaters.

Yes, I do have some concerns about this part of the process.

Bees are my kryptonite. I am scared to the point of phobia of bees. Bees flying near me warrants a complete freak-out.

Bees don't bother me in the least. Wasps scare the living poo out of me though. Figure that one out.

There's a long waiting list for bees - at least a couple of years.... suggest you get on the list.

I thought about getting some bees and was told to get in touch with a local apiarists group as they have the information about local bees problems, and the types of honey - dependant on what flowers the bees are collecting from.

I didn't get any bees, but maybe I will when I have more time to spend with them. My ex said he could picture me as an eccentric old lady, wearing a hat & veil and big gloves, wandering down the garden to have a chat with the bees. 😀

i'm the same. i know a bee isn't going to attack me unless i provoke it or possibly when it's about to die anyway but wasps, evil little feckers could just randomly sing you over and over if they wanted to.
