There was a lot of great music from REM, the Cult, the Police, Duran Duran, U2, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, the Smiths, etc. It was a great time to get dressed up and go drinking and dancing.

Probably the best songs of the '80s, in my humble opinion: How Soon Is Now?, She Sells Sanctuary, Nemesis, Opportunities, Hungry Like the Wolf, She Blinded Me With Science, P-Machinery, Need You Tonight, Amok!, 8:15 to Nowhere, etc.
