I guess Exile on Main St. is also another great album.

I thought this was about the album cover - not the music. So. if that is the case I like the 'In The Court of the Crimson King' cover.

The music is pretty good too. 😀

Sgt.Pepper - though I've never really liked the George Harrison track.

originally Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane were meant to be on Pepper
but the record compnay demanded a single so these two were given.

Would have been fantastic with those two on and Harrison's track
along with the Sgt.Pepper's reprise removed.

Why on earth would "we" have to do anything in particular when pondering our personal favourite music?

Admit?

Not really. There's about 4 good songs on that album on that's it.

"I like Sgt. Pepper's fine, but the best album ever?

I think we have to admit that it was well ahead of its time, the innovation, and the experimentation makes this album stand out, without mentioning that songs like A day in the life, Lovely rita, and Lucy in the sky with diamonds, were masterpieces."

I'm not sure it was ahead of it's time. The Velvet Underground were much more avant-garde. I think the Beatles are overrated. Personnaly I love Nevermind the Bollocks here's the Sex Pistols. Special mention to Public Image Ltd.

The Beatles aren't overrated - they have just been over-played.

Overplayed by whom? Classic rock radio? They overplay everything.

i saw Johhny when he played Glasgow Barrowlands, it was a pity, all the people in the mosh pit were spitting on him, he got fed up and said that if they didn't stop he was gonna leave, then someone threw a bottle and it hit him on the head, and that was enough, he left! but not before he played pretty vacant! awesome!

saw Deborah Harry and Blonde at the same venue, she was divine!

I don't think the beatles are overrated, they had many number ones, and also some great albums, with songs that covered almost all genres.

I think it would be hard to find bands that would make albums similar to the likes of Revolver, Sgt.pepper, or the beatles.
