Yes, the origial guitarist was Peter Green. He was an amazing bluesman.
I first saw Peter Green play in the late sixties at the Pavillion Hall, Matlock Bath. He was lead guitarist with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, and he blew me away. Lineup was John Mayall, Hughie Flint, John Macvie and Peter Green, who had replaced Eric Clapton as lead guitarist. I saw this band a few times before Green and Macvie left to form Fleetwood Mac with Mick Fleetwood and Jeremy Spencer. I agree that this lineup played predominantly Blues, and where a great live band. My love of The Blues has endured till this day. Another band who I feel should receive a mention is Ten Years After with Alvin Lee playing lead guitar, another great guitarist.

He's in his 20's and has been playing and singing since he could. He had a band for a few years, The Lost Blues Club, they played the Scarborough area regularly and produced a cd. He now plays under a few different titles, but worth catching if you can. He's a regular at the Cask. 🙂
you obviously know your blues, saw peter three times in middlesbrough at a venue called the rock garden about 4 years back, saw the original line up many times back in the late 60s at redcar jazz club, the punters were hanging from the rafters.
