Ahh, there nothing quite like a music concert. Thousands of like minded fans, Mosh pits, rocking out and of course the BAND. Regale us the tale of your favorite concert.
Mine came as a suprise to me actually. In Jan. 04 me and a buddy got to see David Bowie during his REALITY tour. I was never a great fan and had only heard a few songs of his. Not really knowing what to expect I have to say I was blown away. His mere prescence just commands attention, and he rules the stage unlike anyone else I've seen.
I was very fond of an Arlo Guthrie concert I saw about a year and a half ago. It was a rather small event, so everything was very personal. He would interact with audience, and me and my little brother most of all. Being the only ones under 25 there, and actually knowing who he and his father were set us apart.

The next best thing was seeing The Autralian Pink Floyd which is a tribute band. Seen them twice now and they are AWESOME!
Other than that Supertramp on their 2002 world tour was something special. They still have it and I cant wait for them to come round again!
The first time I saw Sonic Youth when I was a wee lad holds a special place in my heart. Young, dumb and full of LSD, the old fogeys bent my ear in all the right directions while the packed crowd swayed and gazed at the unearthly noise that screamed from their instruments. That concert changed my life and the way I looked at music in general.

Mind you have to listen to them a few times before you realise that they are really great. Suggestions, are:- Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Station to Station, Young Americans, Heroes, my personal favourite is Station to station, when i first got it I thought it wasn't up to much, a few plays latter and i totally changed my mind.

Five Years.
Pushing thru' the market square, so many mothers sighing
News had just come over, we had five years left to cry in
News guy wept and told us, Earth was really dying
Cried so much his face was wet, then I knew he was not lying
I heard telephones, opera house, favourite melodies
I saw boys, toys, electric irons and TV's
My brain hurt like a warehouse, it had no room to spare
I had to cram so many things to store everything in there
And all the fat-skinny people, and all the tall-short people
And all the nobody people, and all the somebody people
I never thought I'd need so many people
A girl my age went off her head, hit some tiny children
If the black hadn't a-pulled her off, I think she would have killed them
A soldier with a broken arm, fixed his stare to the wheels of a Cadillac
A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest, and a queer threw up at the sight of that
I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour, drinking milk shakes cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine, don't think you knew you were in this song
And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor
And I thought of Ma and I wanted to get back there
Your face, your race, the way that you talk
I kiss you, you're beautiful, I want you to walk
We've got five years, stuck on my eyes
We've got five years, what a surprise
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
We've got five years, that's all we've got
Have to say for me ... the best concert i went to was Tenacious D at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange two years ago...its quite small venue and went with my son as he was too young to get in on his own...after my son and his mates had played the cd in the car on the journey down there,I was well and truly introduced to jack and Kyle... needless to say after being told to stand at the back by the end of the concert I was down at the front of the stage singing Wonder Boy like my life depended on it... truly fantastic concert,am hooked

(Another great show , but for different reasons , was Teddy Nugent . He slipped on stage and royally busted himself in the sack in the middle of "Strangle Hold" . I've never seen 30K people laughing their a$$es off at the same time .)
Who?
Others who I'm not really that big of a fan of , but that put on a hell of a show : Aerosmith , ZZTop , G Thoroughgood and the Delaware Distroyers , White Zombie , Reverend Horton Heat .
