The Sunset Strip in LA is awesome if you have money.

Miami is legendary.

I've also heard good things about Isla Vista, the college neighborhood for UC Santa Barbara, but I've never been and I'm too old for that crowd now anyway.

I can't stand Vegas.

Head down Seven Gables Road. Park at the dead end, walk around the gate and down the dirt path about 1/2 mile. Take a sharp left just before the woods, you will find the fire and the keg will be about 50 feet beyond that.

English is the only language you can speak, isn't it?

I suspected it.

I relate to this. When I was in high school, there was a place way out in the desert we used to go to drink beer and play music from our cars. It was far enough out in the desert that no one ever complained about the noise and we never got busted out there. There are houses out there now with streets and everything. I drove past there the other day on my way to a mall out that way. A freaking mall! It made me feel ancient...

There are other languages? I've just been speaking louder when people don't seem to understand me.

I can butcher French enough to get by. I've been working on Spanish, but, I have a terrible time with it. I can stumble through some basics, but, the responses are usually too quick for me to get. My poor little brain shuts down and I look like a deer in headlights.

I do like Miami. It has great food, great night life, but, parts of it really suck. I didn't care for it much. I go to Cancun every year or so. this would be great if it wasn't for all the Mexicans.
