I think one of the best album covers is: The velvet underground & Nico.

It's plain white with a yellow banana on it.

Painted by Andy Warhol!
Now, Warhol painted a white banana for the cover, but just before it went into production Lou Reed (the singer of the band) decided that yellow bananas are more frequent. So he painted the white Andy Warhol banana yellow. And thus the cover was created.

Andy Warhol refused to speak to Reed afterwards!

Another great album cover (although it could quite easily fit on that "worst" album cover site) is the Bad News album.
Basically 3 of the 4 Young one's got together with a fourth chap and made a heavy metal album. It's dead funny. A lot of swearing and bickering, etc. Their version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is classic beyond words.
But the album cover is just as sweet. Basically a fold down cover with all four of them in their underwear with large phallus shaped objects strapped to their thighs.

Mhmmm. I guess you'd have to see it to get it.

I rather like Jane's Addiction's "Ritual de lo Habitual" cover. Though I noticed a few years back that it was banned in some places for an obscure reason that escapes me. So then they released a plain white version with a stark message berating Nazism or something.

It was a few years ago. I'm assuming the fuss has died down, and you can get the original cover again now. Hmmm, the Genesis Foxtrot cover was pretty cool, as was Nursery Crymes. I'm sure I'll think of others in a minute. Strange Days, ummm....., yeah. That should do for now, πŸ˜‰.

One very memoable album cover was Alice Cooper's 'School's Out' ... it was a desk lid complete with graffitti and carvings. The record inside had a pair of paper panties on...

When I was a teenager, Ween's provocative cover for "Chocolate and Cheese" was my favourite. Great album, too.
