The best meal in the world is definitely Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puddings, with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots and mash.
Made by me..........or me mam, or me mam's mam!

Actually, Yorkshire Pudding and Onion Gravy on it's own is well nice too, unless you do what I did and eat 52 at one sitting for a competition. I felt very "yeasty" for days afterwards (and I not talking STD's here...)

The Sausage and Mash cafe on Portobello Road under the Westway is one of the few places in London where you can eat English food... Mind you I think my vegetarian sausage was called Thai chilli flavour.. But you can't beat onion gravy and bubble and squeak mash.

La Pergola, in Rome, has to be the best restaurant I've ever been in, though with a price to match unfortunately. At the top of the Hilton hotel, in the hills above the city, with the most superb view of the Basilica and Rome below.

Food we had when I was there was a selection of appetisers based around mushrooms - mushroom ice-cream (to die for, seriously!), mushroom tart in melted cheese, and mushrooms on toast with balsamic vinegar - as well as emince of lobster with deep fried zucchini flowers, a beef carpaccio on green tea, and liquorice gelatin. Entrees are more traditional, but equally inventive - lovely contrasts of flavours.

So worth a splurge - incredibly romantic place.

Well, best restrauant I've eaten as was probably Victoria's. Italian place in downtown Appleton. Huge plate of food for roughly around 5$ or so. Free bread too 😀. The best food I've eaten, to put it simply, Cheese, assorted kinds though 🙂.

in victoria, canada there are 2 excellent vegetarian restaurants:

The Green Cuisine - large variety of cuisine and all organic
The Lotus Pond - excellent chinese cuisine (with no msg either)

but the best food is what we get to eat at home!

hi sarah!
hi starrman! (though i don't believe i've had the pleasure of meeting you yet - either that or i am losing my memory 😕)

thanks for the greetings!

i come by to the RHP forums infrequently due to musical activities at home (it's not the food - despite how good it is 😀)

it's nice to return here and not feel like a stranger.

in friendship,
prad
