I guess, in no particular order, Leanard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Dick Gaughan (Both sides the tweed), Billy Joel, Ralph McTell (streets of london). Pete Seeger (Where have all the flowers gone?)

I'm a big fan of Louden Wainwright III and never miss a chance to see
him perform if he's in town. His kids are naff but he is quite brilliant.

I offer you Jake Thackray.

I don't know whether he's known outside the UK or not, but to me he is one of the greats. I was a student when he was at his most popular. Quirky, very clever, a bit oddball, a bit like a toned down Tom Lehrer at times, but lovely lyrical unforgettable music a bit like traditional French street music but he was Yorkshire. A brilliant enigma of a man, who, sadly, died far too young.
