Have you heard Cockburn's 'Mines of Mozambique?
I think that is the best thing he ever wrote, chilling but powerful.

Sorry about the stupid ad.

This isn't the best version, I have a much better one on a CD somewhere.

Here is a recent video of his acoustic guitar playing:

If a tree falls:

If I had a rocket launcher (Live to a huge audience)

His guitar work here is helped by an echo box🙂

A recent interview in Canada:

Wringing a lot of blues out of that 4 string box! Wonder what it was tuned to? Maybe bass strings of guitar, my guess (6,5,4,3)

Sounds like a good name for a blues song:

"Wringing the blues"!

You know, he was introduced to audiences by Judy Collins. She had to drag him almost kicking and screaming onstage to start singing but once he did the rest is history🙂

Did you know she was also in several movies, like "Junior" where she played the manager of a spa for pregnant women. Many awards also for music and Both Sides Now reached # 3 in the US charts. Great woman.
I was enthralled with her when I was a young pup in the USAF in the sixties. The song 'Anathea' gave me goosebumps!
I found this live recording from Hootenanny (of all the shows, I would never have expect to have seen her there🙂

The studio recording was magnificent.

I found this clip, from 1976, Judy and Arlo Guthrie standing in for Lee Hays and Ronnie Gilbert from the old Weavers group, now Pete Seeger, Judy Collins, Arlo Guthrie, Fred Hellerman. Of course Arlo was woody Guthrie's son. This is "This land is your land"

Here is a clip of the original Weavers, their last Carnegie hall appearance:

Their #1 hit, Good Night Irene (from 1950)

Fred hellerman is now the only living Weaver.

Judy Collins' voice is incredibly beautiful while Pete Seeger's is so powerful. I also enjoyed the narration by Studs Terkel. Thank you.
