Very easy chess system, it's nearly never down, very cheap, lots of various opponents, great discussion forums and very clever and interesting people posting frequently.
I do feel sorry for Russ though. It must be a strain! All the bickering about this and about that...I've worked in a kindergarden, and I can guess what he feels like.

Actually, talking about the Sphinx, I was at a bacholor's party which started in the historic museum in Leiden (Dutch university city) and we had to think up questions for the groom-to-be.
I was sat sipping a diet coke (the first and last of the day...I assure you) and was staring at this ancient, miniature of the sphinx, and this is the question which popped into my head:
What do you call the rear end of the Sphinx?
