To be honest with you most of what you post isn't worth remembering in my humble opinion.

... just in time is good.

I am more able to understand where conservative people are coming from and empathize with them [whilst still having disagreements with them] than I was when I was halfway through my life.

I was more sanctimonious and combative about my progressive stances when I was younger. I then came to the conclusion that there are beliefs and sensibilities one cannot ram down people's throats at one's own preferred speed; doing so leads to backlashes like the destructive grievance politics and culture wars one sees in places like the U.S. and Brazil now.

eric clapton and his views on race
he made a conscious decision at a very young age to play the blues
he has associated with black musicians his whole life
if one reveres a genre of music so much to cover bob marley songs, to sit in session with bb king and then diss immigrants of color vehemently
how does one square this?
is it the impossible stacks of money that insulates him from the world?
brain damage from drug use?
plain old hypocrisy?

i am still conflicted, painfully so, i listen to his music daily and with every lick i remind myself that on some level he's a bastard

then i look inward
i, too, am a bastard

i have no answers to my conundrum

I listened to the audio book of his autobiography. I found him to be an unimpressive entitled whingeing nonentity puffed up by showbusiness and money. I also happen to think his guitar playing is overrated, so for me it's not a mitigating factor.

"Nope"?
