Just a quick note to warn you about playing Vikthor. I was playing two games against him just before I went on holiday. I set the On Vacation yet when I got back he'd claimed both games.
Now I know this is only a gentlemans agreement but it's a bit much. Do all the Pawn Stars do this to us non-Pawn Stars so that they can boost their ratings? I suspect not but it's not a nice thing to do.
Originally posted by captainchaosI dont unless you`re in a clan match, but you`ll always get a reminder first.

Thanx for the warning about Vikthor, but the other statement was a bit silly.

Besides, I want my rating to accurately reflect my level of play, and inflating it by claiming games would mean that I can't match my rating on the board. I'd feel like a cheat.
Even without the vacation setting, I message my opponent after his time has run out, and wait 24 hours for a reply or move before claiming the win. That's just my personal policy, and it's naturally the same for every opponent, star or no star.

I am playing a player in two clan games that I respect very much. Since we started this match he has joined MY clan of which I am a leader. He is about a month past the time-out and he has his vacation setting on. To complicate this even more. If I claim the time-outs, my clan is assured of winning the match. Brother Danforth, please know, that even an Apostle can be tempted. Ye have been forewarned. Br. Kirk
If an opponent does not have his vacation flag deployed, I will claim the win the very second it becomes available. If he does have his vacation flag deployed, then I will give a reasonable amount of time. If an opponent has been extremely slow during the game I am very reluctant to give him any more time, and would probably only observe his vacation flag for a week before claiming the win. I would probably observe a vacation flag for up to a month if the opponent had been moving quickly. A month is my absolute limit. If you can't make a single move in a whole month, then you deserve to lose.
