In England the show and the program mean the same thing. I mean the one which started on friday. I think its only in England.

I believe C4 is a British rather than an English broadcaster.

Anyway its all a big pile of horse poo, meaningless TV for meaningless people. One of the cable TV channels came up with the brilliantly ironic "Watching Paint Dry" to try and pull the brain dead away from big brother.

Kitten reminds me of that singer from Pulp, Jarvis Cocker. I think we should all refer to her as Jarvis from now on! 😉

reality TV: "it's people sitting in a house watching people, sitting in a house"...

and i think "butch" is an appropriate name for kitten too 😛

It would seem to me that Orson Wells had it all wrong. Big Brother's not watching us, we're watching him.

Though the version that aired in the U.S.A. a few years ago wasnt anything to write home about and I would as soon watch water boil then to waste valuable time on that stupid show.😠

I think you mean 'George Orwell'. Presumably the audience are the 'Big Brother', not the contestants. Now there's a thought - imagine if the world was secretly run by a bunch of morons who had nothing better to do than watch random strangers gossip.

maybe they could do something along the lines of the *real* big brother-get some irritating people (i dunno how they'd do it-they coiuld sudition them for big brother, then reject them?) and follow them about for a bit. start to control their lives. take out all the money from their bank accounts, get them arrested for being out too late, really irritating petty stuff, so tehy crack up and we get to laugh?
