@the-gravedigger saidJust check out 'Site FAQ', bottom of this page it is really quite simple even I can do it. 🙂
FMF sent me a message years ago kindly explaining how.
Unfortunately I have lost the bit of paper I wrote down the instructions on 😕

@very-rusty saidI wouldn't 'say' anything, and personally it means nothing to me. In an objective sense I take it to mean that you have created something which 8 or 17 people disapprove of, and by expressing disapproval they express an interest in what you have to say.
So what would you say if I got 8 thumbs down or lets say 17 of them, what does that mean to you?

By the by, I've never thumbed you or anyone else down, and nor will I do so until the thumbs cease to be anonymous, but that's just me.

I say things that cause controversy just to get the forum active sometimes it kills the thread sometimes there might wind up with a lot of posts in it. People just seem to love conflict and do keep coming back to see what was said last when they see a new poster who has posted in my opinion, especially if it is Very Rusty.
If I got no thumbs either way, it wouldn't stop me from posting. Only thing I don't like is to banter with any clanmate as it can cause conflict in the Clan. I figure that is something should be done in a P.M., if Clan member has something negative to say to me. We don't need an audience to have a discussion, at least I don't.
We actually had a vote on if the thumbs should be anonymous or not and it was voted that people wanted to remain anonymous. I voted the person who did the thumb either way be shown. Some people just don't like conflict but by giving a thumb down or up can express their view on what was said. Of course what the majority wants often rule as it probably should be.
Now watch for all the thumbs down! Only people that will say anything are the ones who don't mind conflict. Phil it is good of you to say where you are at on the subject of the thumbs up or down.

@very-rusty saidThe forums are invariably active and don't require deliberate and contrived controversy.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidYou look at the ones with no conflict then look at the ones with conflict in them with few exceptions the ones with conflict will have the larger amount of posters.

I already have two posts after saying my piece on the subject, and counting....LOL...

More podcast links to come.
These are better ways of listening to this stuff than Mixcloud is.
@indonesia-phil saidIt could have something to do with FMF's posting history and treatment of other RHP members.
Eight thumbs down so far for imparting this perfectly innocent piece of information. That's eight people who really should find better things to do with their lives.
A possible workaround could be to have you post the links and information about the project. What do you think?
@kevin-eleven saidNo. It's an all-volunteer non- commercial community radio station.
Do you get any revenue from this project?
Have you listened to the programme?
@kevin-eleven saidI think my posting history is good. I don't think a few anonymous thumbs down means or affects anything.

@fmf saidI have only skipped through the Box 39 episode (not a reflection on the quality or content -- I do the same with YouTube videos and rarely if ever sit still to listen to audio podcasts).
Now, here are three editions of the programme that you may well find very interesting.
The first two were broadcast late last year and the third one was aired last night back in the UK.
Here, all the 100-word onions have been written by young men and women, undergraduates, from Indonesia. The Indonesian word for an onion is "bawang bombay".
BILL'S BIG BAG OF BAW ...[text shortened]... dcasts on Spotify, Castbox, Anchor, Google, Breaker, PocketCasts, RadioPublic, Castbox and OverCast.
I do appreciate this aspect of the project (quoted). Nice of you to give these young people opportunities to participate and to have their work broadcast. I'm sure that's a big boost to their creativity and self-confidence.

@very-rusty saidI'm not concerned by how many thumbs up or down my posts get. But if a few people get the chance to catch a glimpse of the inner lives and worldviews of a bunch of 18 year old Indonesians as seen through their microfictions, then that's a good thing, and it's unaffected by the thumbs issue.
You know you can quote your fist post on Page 1 and just add to it fmf? Of course you do, just didn't want the 8 thumbs down on it.
@kevin-eleven saidThe links will be the same regardless of whether it's Indonesia Phil or me who posts them. The thumbs down don't have any bearing on what's found at the links. I think your suggestion to him indicates that you are getting the wrong end of the stick viz a viz his attitude towards the thumbing that's going on.
