Yes, they train people to kill and follow orders. They don't want the solders to think for themselves. And when the solders come home their government no longer has a use for them.
🙁

Those are the cold facts, aren't they? I would like to get on the top of a mountain, so that I can be heard all over the world, take a deep breath of air into my lungs and shout: WAAAAAKE UUUUUUUP! WAAAAAAKE UUUUUP!

I have a deep rage against the machine in my heart, and it's growing by the week. Today it was talk about the US strategically bombing Iran. It makes me sick that the US gov. hasn't learned anything from invading Iraq.

WAAAAAKE UUUUUUP! WAAAAAAAKE UUUUUUUP!

[Edit: Oooops. A little off topic here, eh?..]

I don't think it's even necessary to dislike people who are not part of your group to be racist. If you dislike your own group and think other groups are inherently better, I would say that's racist, too (if you define your group by race). There was a lot of this kind of racism (or maybe rather nationalism in this case) in the Germany I grew up in (West Berl ...[text shortened]... ns. It took me a long time to understand that this actually was a form of nationalism, too.
Not only back then, Katja... do you see German national pride anywhere in Germany? (Well maybe Bavaria, but that doesn't count 😛) I'm not proud of Germany because I see no reason to be proud of it, but I think what you described is still the general atmosphere here...

I read something on the internet a while back that said that brunettes possessed some kind of gene that blondes didn't that made them smarter!
You're saying that the blondes are smarter because they lack the dumb-gene. 😉

Is it? I had the impression that it had changed somewhat. My dream would be an absence of both nationalism and "anti-nationalism". No national pride, no national shame. But that's probably utopian.

Not much of a problem for me,I love brunettes.
:'(

I don't think it will happen though. Even if you killed off all the people with the phenotype blonde, you would still have 2/3 of the remaining people able to pass on the gene for blonde, making it nearly impossible for the gene to become extinct.

I am a utopian. Nothing wrong or right with that. It's a state of existence like any other.

From the Wikipedia:

Adjective - utopian:

According to Oxford dictionary, it is usually used negatively to criticise proposals or ideas having or aiming for a level of perfection of utopia which is impossible or very difficult to achieve.

Noun - utopian:

The word utopian can be used as a noun to mean someone who imagines, proposes, or supports a utopia.

I think it's still over-compensation of the nationalism under Hitler... Of course they don't directly teach it in schools or anything, but when you get to the year where you talk about WWII and the events leading up to it, the general message conveyed is "It was our fault, and we should still feel guilty for it because it was our ancestors who did it. Germans are bad and evil". Obviously nobody says it that directly... but oh well, you get the picture.
But I dunno. I don't like Germany much, but that's because I'm scared of what will happen when I start working: Taxes are a nightmare, I'd have to pay fees for social services even though I'm certain that the current system no longer exists when I'm eligible for retirement money, the economy is spiralling downward in a race with politics (just look at our chancelor, for god's sake...). I'm outta here rather sooner or later. Norway would be nice... maybe Bodö 😉

My hopes were you could spot a very terrible joke (a 9 out of 10 at least) without going into it seriously.
