Russ, seeing as you closed the other thread I'd just like to say...please don't get rid of the big board, I have to have large pieces because I'm a little hard of thinking.

I think the different sizes must stay.Maybe people with some sort of sight defect need the bigger pieces?
I like the medium size myself.

The pieces look so small with the large board... I keep losing them!

some board styles need updating though, maybe a 3d chess board, or something similar to wizards chess on harry potter, that would make the game play a whole lot more exciting!!!

How would it affect the gameplay?
Surely the rules would not change, just the display.

I'm probably showing my age AND geekiness but does anyone remember ARCHON? A game for the Apple II that was an animated chess match between light and dark forces. To capture a piece you had to fight on a battlefield and each piece had different attacks...

Anyone...anyone...
