If you were going to have a kid... Would you want a boy or girl?
What would you name the child?
What do you consider when naming a child?
I have not had any time to enjoy Ivory Tower Class thread, but I hope to catch up on it soon. I've read some, but the thread was a good 3 pages long before I realized how good it is.
That is what inspired this thread, and the possibility that I may father in the next couple years. Perhaps!

I want a little girl. A girl that won't ever grow up and who will be sweet and little forever and won't ever learn how to talk back or start dating guys that are, ya know, anything like I am at 18! π And her name? Why, her name would be Seraphim, of course. Seraphim is the highest rank of all the angels, and so no one thinks she's being raised by hippies, she can always use the name Sera for short, which is perfectly common (though usually spelled Sara or Sarah, but who cares). My kid will be unique whether she likes it or not!!!!! π΅
And if it's a boy than ya know, sell him, whatever. Ta.

I want children terribly bad. I will probably adopt since it's kinda hard to have kids if I won't have a man in my life! π
I want a boy. I was thinking Rand, but I've asked a few people about that name and they think it's dumb. What do you all think?
ncrosbyπ
Also, is it possible to adopt if you're single where you live?
I don't think it is where I live as they want to ensure a stable upbringing (single people have less worthy than gay couples apparently).
As for Rand, seems kind of strange to me, but a lot of american names do e.g. no-one in Britain would ever call a child Randy, but I understand it's quite common in the US.
I wanted a girl since I was about 9 years old. Somehow, I have always gotten along with females better than males. I don't know where the name came from but it's been in my head for about the same length of time. When my wife told me she was pregnant I immediately asked her if we could name her Brynne Elizabeth. My wife still hasn't gotten over this reaction. π

my first girls gonna be valled "amy", cause it's a nice name and i've got a deal with one of my friends (amy π) to name my first girl after her, and she'll name her first boy after me...
first boy is gonna be called "jackson", after jacko. and he's gonna name his first kid after my second name (lets just call it Stewart, cause that's an acceptable first and second name, just as mine is...kinda...)
so they'll be jackson stewart and stewart jackson π
but he doesn't wanna do that anymore, so he'll be called laurie cause that's a great name! π

As for names, I have enough trouble trying to name cats and rats!
Something I like, slightly unusual but not bullying fodder.
Something I would be happy to be called (unless it's a girl's name π).
