Wholegrain bread but maybe not in combination with wine. With wine I would prefer baguette with cheese.

My mate's sourdough rye bread. To be honest I am a philistine who is quite content with a can of Heineken.

"stale" was originally used to describe beer when it was clear and strong,
in other words when the fermentation had finished.

From Norman French "estaler" to halt. (cf stall)

It really is, they have a lot of different types as well that we don’t generally get here, hoegarrden is another good one.

My homemade wholemeal multigrain loaf & Black Pig stout brewed by the White Hag Irish Brewing Company.

Prawns cooked in garlic, chillies and a lot of extra virgin olive oil, whole wheat seeded bread to sock up the yummy oily sauce and washed down with a Argentine melbec. Doesn’t get much better.

Any basic white bread, thinly sliced and toasted, buttered, with a very THIN spread of vegemite or marmite. I will pass on the beer, but a nice cup of hot coffee would be nice.
