OMG, I can't believe I forgot Red Dwarf, too.

Is Space:1999 British??

How about Thunderbirds, Stingray, and Captain Scarlet? (Someone else mentioned a kids show, I wasn't thinking of those)

Anyone remember UFO?

So what are some of your favorite British television shows? Here's a few of mine. (Many are very old, I know, but I don't live in Britain so I take what I can get)

Open All Hours
Allo Allo
The Young Ones
The Darling Buds of May
Fawlty Towers
Monty Pythons Flying Circus
Th ...[text shortened]... re as I think of them. Feel free to comment on the shows on my list as well as posting your own.

Blakes 7...
The only sci-fi which systematically killed off all the heroes.

Filthy, Rich and Catflap
Funniest Rik Mayell and Adrian Edminson show ever made. Only 6 episodes, but funny as hell (funnier than the young ones and funnier than Bottom...save the live bottom videos).

Top Gear
Who cares about cars? The presenter is funnier than anything else the tory party has ever thrown at us!

Have I got news for you
My favourite show in the whole wide world. The most sarcastic quiz ever created and prorbably one of the most sarcastic shows to ever be aired!

The Rory Bremner show
I don't know what it's called. But him and the two John's....maybe even funnier than Have I got news for you. But I only managed to see one series of it.

UNKNOWN
A few years ago BBC 2 did a morning program with 2 comedians. It was very funny, sarcastic and all round, just totally excellent. I don't know what it was called or who the comedians were, but it was classic.
It was sort of a spoof on morning TV shows.

it was called This Morning With Richard Not Judy and was hosted by stewart lee and richard herring.

stewart lee still does standup, and co-wrote jerry springer the opera, which i urge everyone to go and see, as long as you're not easily offended or religiously inclined... incidentally, bbc2 are showing it in the new year, set your sky+ now!

richard herring is still heavily into the theatre, his current show is the twelve tasks of hercules terrace which is touring next year i believe....

absolutely - that sketch where judas iscariot complains about being stitched up was inspired - especially as it sat in the traditional god slot of bbc2 sunday morning.

they didn't make any more because the bbc cancelled the show, for reasons best known to themselves... you can download the episodes off various p2p sites though - there's a guy selling dvds on ebay of everything lee and herring ever did <edit>with the bbc</edit>, search for Lee and Herring. not kosher but well worth 9 of your english pounds
