This sounds like "Good Morning with Richard NOT Judy" with Richard Lee and Stuart Herring.
Both still do stuff on Radio 4 and are still pretty funny.

yes they are and ufo with purple hair for the females? and the film set was the cover for hq. all done by anderson, but fireball xl5 was funner, texas two guns was very early anderson.
