Lib Dems propose a 2000 pound tax on vehicles generating over 100 grams of CO2 per Kilometer of driving, cars generating less would be exempt. Think its a good idea? Here is the link:

Follow the lead of us "colonials" and dump the roads into Boston Harbour.

Great idea.

Car manufacturers aren't going to put any effort into cleaner emmissions if there is a huge demand for cars which compensate for inadequacies elsewhere, if you know what I mean.

I agree, the sooner car use is lowered and real steps are taken towards limiting emmissions, the better. Plus, it would p;ss off Jeremy Clarkson and his car-loving ilk and that's just fine by me.

Bluddy scaremonger. You got me worried for a while until I read article properly.

They are proposing a £2000 charge on the most polluting cars, not those over 100 grams Co2/KM.

Which is just as well for the owners of small cars like Fiat Pandas and Daihatsu Charades which generate 114 grams.

Fortunately it will never happen.

So only the rich can still afford to drive around?
Is this what you propose?
