Browser Question (Firefox / Stupid Links)

Anyway, what is the stupid setting where you go to a page, and it underlines 'key words' and turns them into links? How can I shut that off? These are those pesky links that have nothing to do with the page you are on.

I'll try to explain better if you don't understand my question. This is also not my computer, so I don't know what's installed on it besides Firefox and some other crap.

Google: Linkification Firefox

Tools --> Add Ons ---> Extensions --> Linkification --> Disable

No, this is the one where you may be on any given page and the word "Bathtubs" is underlined and would take you to a place that sells tubs.

Not an underline url, but underlined concept or word.

It's stupid!

Just press ALT and F4 together at the same time. That should take care of it

Hyperwords? Another FF extension

It drove me nuts until I altered the settings, now it is actually usable.

Most of those underlined word thingys are the site's crap attempt at making money from advertising. Not a firefox issue at all.

This is not true in this case, since it is my web site and the stupid things shouldn't be linked.

Could be spyware(ish). Are there any weird extra browser toolbars at the top of the browser?

I remember shutting this off, part of Yahoo or google toolbar or something. I've got the MOST POWERFUL SPYWARE SCANNER MONEY CAN BUY, so it's NOT THAT!~
