Bruce Springsteen: Land of Hope and Dreams Tour

General

Right now in the UK and Europe, Bruce Springsteen is starting his "Land of Hope and Dreams" tour, with dates through July.

First stop was last night in Manchester, England. Did anyone here go see it?

Several times throughout the show, Bruce stopped to speak out against Donald Trump and his corrupt administration.

He had this to say: "The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock and roll, in dangerous times. In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, and has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration. Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against the authoritarianism, and let freedom ring!”

More: “There’s some very weird, strange, and dangerous sh-- going on out there,” he said prior to performing “My City of Ruins.” “In America, they are persecuting people for using their right to free speech and voicing their dissent. This is happening now. In America, the richest men are taking satisfaction in abandoning the world’s poorest children to sickness and death. This is happening now.”

“And in my country, they are taking sadistic pleasure in the pain that they inflict on loyal American workers, they are rolling back historic civil rights legislation that led to a more just and moral society. They are abandoning our great allies and siding with dictators against those struggling for their freedom.They are defunding American universities that won’t bow down to their ideological demands. They are removing residents off American streets and without due process of law, are deporting them to foreign detention centers and prisons. This is all happening now.”

“A majority of our elected representatives have failed to protect the American people from the abuses of an unfit president and a rogue government. They have no concern or idea for what it means to be deeply American. The America l’ve sung to you about for 50 years is real and regardless of its faults is a great country with a great people. So we’ll survive this moment. Now, I have hope, because I believe in the truth of what the great American writer James Baldwin said, he said ‘in this world there isn’t as much humanity as one would like, but there’s enough.’ Let’s pray.”

As The Boss said: "This is all happening now."

Kid Rock? Seriously?

He's the biggest Trumper ever.

That means he lies, that means he supports a grifter, that means he doesn't care that Trump is taking bribes, that means he craves authoritarianism.

Kid Rock is a nothingburger next to The Boss.

You say that about everything I ever bring up.

If you say "That's all you have" to EVERYthing I bring up then we have quite a lot, yeah?

You’re dumb enough no need to keep proving it, very weak๐Ÿ˜‚.

I would take more notice of what Springsteen says than Kid Rock any day (although. 'All Summer Long' IS a decent track)

We over here find your US of A politics mildly amusing.

Bruce got a great review for his show last night in Manchester, by the way.

Ok, I wouldn’t, never liked him. you should be keeping an eye on your own politics.

@mike69

Ok, you need to 'like' a person to take an interest in their political views?

I don't like many such observers, but respect their opinions.

You can poke at us in the UK if you like, ours isn't perfect.

But it isn't your 'tariffs for you, whoops, no. We aren't doing that now' circus that you are in.

As Don Henley said many years ago 'tired old man that we elected king'

Kid Rock wasn’t saying he was better, but that Bob Seger blows him away. As you mentioned everyone has Opinions the thing is I disagree with his opinions, as a matter of fact I think their pure sht like the libs here. I never liked him nothing to do with this. As far as saying Trump is a tired old man, when he goes like a bull, Henley must be fool also. Btw Seger does blow them both away like their not even there. You must not have watched what it said, just threw your opinion out there๐Ÿ™„.

Sorry, failing to understand a lot of that.

Your use of their/they're is odd

Your reference to Segar/Kid Rock?? What's that to do? I just said I would respect Bruce's opinion over Kid Rock. My opinion. End of.

And your Don Henley sentence reads like, well, nonsense. Trump 'goes like a bull'??!! Too much information!

Take a little more water with it

Mistake or not you understand, if that makes your ego feel superior it’s ok with me clown boy. To answer, good for you, I couldn’t care less what you’re saying or about your opinions. Thanks for bringing all that up???

@mike69

Yep, that's fairly clear, Mike.

Thanks for a very meaningful discussion.
