Do a case study: cut yer own off and document the changes.

same reason that you geld stallions it calms them down and they dont want to jump on every heffer or mare that walks past, unless it not done properly then you end up with a rigg

It makes them lose the urge to shag all the cows. Plus, I think they fatten up for the slaughter quicker.

What's a rigg? Is it related to a bullock?

And I think ungelded bulls grow bigger than bullocks.

its when you geld for example a stallion you have to make sure both of the testicles are droped down as they can stay up inside . if you only get 1 then you end up with a rigg, still has the erge but not to the extent that a stallion would and is still possible to cover a mare.

They castrate for several reasons. The meat from a steer tastes better than the meat from a bull. The testosterone can taint the meat and make it taste like urine. Also the steers put on more body fat, which makes the meat taste better.
Also it allows the rancher to select the best bulls to bread with the heffers and cows. And finally it gives us "Rocky Mountain Oysters."

I used to work in the Cheyenne WY area and we went to Severance and visited that bar a couple of times. That was the first place I had Oysters. Then a few years later a friend of mine got married in Fort Collins and we went there for the bachelor party. We had the economy size "bucket o' balls" as we called them. What a coincidence.

Do you ever get over there any more Art?

I haven't been to Bruce's Bar for a long time.I'll have to change that.
The owner is a crazy old turd name Bruce Ruth,He used to drive stock cars back in the 50"s.I'll bet to this day he still carries a "Pocket warmer"too. You don't mess with that little fart. 🙂

Edit:Goose season is a commin' up too.Severance is a great place for that!
