I want to copy a particular radio show (it's on too late). Can I use my computer to do this and how?

It depends what setup you have with your stereo equipment and software.

I have my PC rigged up to my mixer for both input and output. I can play a radio show into the mixer, straight back out into the PC and record to Ableton live (software).

There's probably an easier way though (windows sound recorder or similar?)

I was wondering about Real Player.

What mixer do you use?

The radio station you require may well be broadcast on the Internet. If it is you may well be able to record from that.

It's on old Numark 4 channel Mixer for my record decks.

It isn't, that's the tricky part!

Cheers.

Hmmm. I'm sure one of those would come in handy...Nothing as simple as plugging the hi-fi in somewhere and pressing a button?

'Spose the question really is how do I record directly from radio onto cd.

Could you connect the tuner output to the line in or mic input on your soundcard?

EDIT: Make sure voltages, impedances etc are compatible first to avoid any nasty burning smells.

I can do that, yep. Then what?

I think you will require a third party app.

EDIT: If you are using Windows it has a built in sound recorder, but I can't fathom how to record for longer than 60 seconds with it.

jimslyp69s advice is right. The only advantage of having the mixer rigged up is that I can play (upto 2 of) 4 different audio channels into my PC.

Try this link for possible freee/cheap software to help you:
