Bush falling off his bike

Apparently, GWB fell off his push bike when he hit a policeman in the grounds of Gleneagles today.

The policeman got taken to hospital as a precaution, and George has a few minor injuries.

I wish I could see the video!

Does anyone know if STANG has been inpersonating a member of the local constabulary today.

I am bad. My first thought when I heard this story was: "Was he trying to chew gum at the same time?"

Presidents (and Presidential candidates) have been taking a tumble for many years now... Gerald Ford was famous for his clumsiness (he was president from '74-77). Chevy Chase made a bit of a name for himself by falling off of ladders, etc while performing on Saturday Night Live (it was Gerald Ford who inspired those pratfalls).

I remember in 1996, Bob Dole (who was 72 at the time) took a tumble off of a platform while speaking at a fair of some kind during the '96 campaign. He just bounced right back up and went right back to what he was doing, didn't even faze him... meanwhile, Bill Clinton, while staying at Greg Norman's (the golfer's) mansion, slipped on the bottom stair of a staircase, suffered tendon or ligament damage, and was on crutches for like a month and a half.

I thought that was pretty amazing... here's Dole taking a spill off of a 4 foot high platform and, at 72, acts like nothing happened...while Clinton, 20 years younger, "falls" a whole 8 inches and is out of commission for 6 weeks...

I forget to check the network news tonight to see if they had footage of Bush's fall today... I'd be surprised if they didn't...
