I start to work in march and I want to create some kind of logbook what I did every day, when I came to work and when I left.
I just found Mozilla's calendar project Sunbird and I liked it. But I am not sure how to export and how to calculate the time I was in office (in a moth, a week, ...). Is sunbird (there exists even a German version of it 🙂 ) what I want?
Do you have any experiences or hints for me?
Thanks a lot,

Open Notebook, enter "played chess on RHP". Now, copy and paste the line 28,29,30 or 31 times depending on the number of days in the month.
Done.

I think there is plenty of free software that would meet your needs. Try using google to look for freeware journal, or freeware diary.
But I am looking for something that does this job and it does it well (not the [bí]best[/i] solution is needed, but a good one). What I wanted to hear were some personal experiences.
Perhaps someone uses a piece of software to log his dives. This software allows me (perhaps) to calculate the time ("in the water" ) and what fishes I saw.
Some time ago I used MS Excel for that, but it's very ugly, I was looking for something better...

I tried using Mozilla's Calendar -Sunbird? - and also Microsoft Outlook Calendar to keep track of my appointments. I also tried using some university software - Meeting Maker. However, after trying all of these I finally decided upon my favourite way of keeping track of my life:
a £2.99 pocket diary from a bookshop.... and a pen!!!!
