I read with interest your situation with your landlady. I would strongly advise that you do NOT keep on connecting and disconnecting your cooker. If, as you state, there is a smell of gas present you are legally bound to make the installation safe, which by disconnecting the cooker you have done so. You do need to contact someone who is CORGI lations 1998 which are still current at this time.
