i used to live there and i'm still a steelers fan, but i'm out in omaha nebraska now. pittsburgh is SO AWESOME you will love it there. i still got tons of family there and the neighborhoods are so friendly that it's just a really nice place. omaha is pretty cool too, but it's not as pretty here.

Don't know your financing, but the South Side, e.g., East Carson St. is a good neighborhood, mostly Eastern European Linage, clean, friendly, and great neighborhood bars. Check it out.

Thanks, the wife and I are renting a place three blocks off of Carson, closer to the River. The South Side looks like a lot of fun. Then she wants to take me out to the country north of Pittsburgh, where I'm sure on some quiet Friday night she will chop me up and put me in her soup. She's diabolical.

Congrats on your move. I will be living in Pittsburgh for about another 24 hours and then I head off to the wonderful world of Ohio! I've lived here for a little over a year and I love it. I'll definitely miss the pretty hills (but not in the winter when you slide down them in your car... not pretty). Good luck to you!
