People in Canada are complaining up the Ying Yang about the fact that many things in Canada still cost more here than they do in the US even though the Canadian dollar is now worth more than the US dollar (about $1.04)
They site books as an example that have sticker prices as $30 CDN / $20 US.
Rather than wasting time trying to get retailers to lower CDN prices, WHY DON"T WE JUST BUY STUFF USING US DOLLARS???
Go the bank, exchange your money and reap the discount ya hosers. Most stores accept US money here.
Many retailers in Canada will not accept U.S. cash. Just try to pay for a book with U.S. cash at a bookstore near here, or at any other bookstore in this city. You can't. If a business accepts U.S. cash, it is not required to do so and has every right to refuse the currency of a foreign country. U.S. money is not legal tender in Canada, and only legal tender can be used to pay for something.

If there is a US sticker on the merchandise, i'd be asking to pay for it in US dollars for the US dollar amount.

And.. to give you an idea why people are complaining, if you buy large ticket items like automobiles, the price difference could be anywhere from 6-10K!

also, there is a lawsuit people created because border town dealers are being told they are NOT allowed to sell to Canadian customers because they want us to pay the premium prices here
Originally posted by MIODudeIt appears if you move away from the border towns ( I don't know how far you have to move) that the dealers are able ( willing) to sell them to you.

As for the warranties I don't see how they can not warrant them without the threat of a lawsuit and besides you'd expect for a high ticket item that there'd be no worries for quite a while as long as you kept up with the suggested maintenance svhedule (assuming of course you didn't buy a "lemon"š
