I know. But so naive! Do Americans actually pay attention to international affairs or do they just watch CNN?

Good reply.....you get a rec....The US would never disallow humanitarian medical aid to any country and never has, to my knowledge; we even allowed medical supplies into Iraq during Saddam's reign of terror after Gulf War I; we even give food and medical aid to N. Korea and that "Stray Cats" lead singer-looking idiotic dictator of theirs....
I certainly beg to differ on this issue.

The US and UK continually vetoed Iraq receiving cancer (and cancer pain related) stopping drugs in the 1990's.

All the documentation can be found in John Pilger's: The new rulers of the world.

Read it and weep.

I pay quite a bit to international affairs, especially Canadian. While the eastern provinces, Ontario and Quebec in particular dislike us, everyplace west of there is similar to America in values and ethics. A recent poll, acccording to FOX News says only 48% of Americans think of Canada as a true ally due to some of your past actions after 9-11 such as your very lax immigration system that allows suspected terrorists to show up on your doorstep and be allowed to be instilled into Canadian society, and possibly slip into the US to wreak havoc, but due to our slack response on our southern border with Mexican and middle-eastern illegals coming in by the millions, we have no room to talk...we have to stick together like stink on $hit, and I won't say which country is which as it doesn't matter because we either survive together or sink together.....

Sounds like essays written by socialistic authors...yes, there was a veto, but not of medicinal aid....Saddam was also allowed to use the oil for money program to help his people...what did he do?....redesign his palaces, upgrade the Republican Guard, and pay off those whore countries called France, Germany, and Russia, supposedly US allies, for weapons and parts to upgrade his military while his people suffered....explain that please...

Seriously Chancre,
I have a nagging feeling you don't know half of it.

Professor Doug Rokke, the US Army physicist responsible for cleaning up Kuwait, told me: "I am like many people in southern Iraq. I have 5,000 times the recommended level of radiation in my body. Most of my team are now dead.

Professor Karol Sikora who, as chief of the cancer programme of the World Health Organisation (WHO), wrote in the British Medical Journal: "Requested radiotherapy equipment, chemotherapy drugs and analgesics are consistently blocked by United States and British advisers [to the Sanctions Committee]. There seems to be a rather ludicrous notion that such agents could be converted into chemical and other weapons.

I suggest you read this article.
