I like to believe chess players are the most intelligent group in human kind. Why? Because we are able to see, analyse, and project results befor they happen. Thus censorship. It has no place among the thinking community. Even when the thinking is limited in scope, it goes beyond subjectivity. In short: "there should be no censorship at RHP because we are supposedly the most mature minds existing. Please, unless there is a personal attack, let the book write itself.

* because chess is a complex game and needs thinking to master it doesn't mean that ALL intelligent people play the game. It doesn't even mean that all players are intelligent. Not vene the high rated ones. Ever heard the expression idiot savant?
* censorship has to do with ethics not with intelligence. Ethics is something which is more or less completely decoulped from intelligence. Other than you need a certain intelligence to grasp the subject at all.

Also, there are some high rated chess players here that want to shock... that doesn't work if Russ wants a 13+ site.
Private forums are the place where the only person who's going to erase is the leader of any given club or clan.
Otherwise, RHP isn't subject to freedom of speech or should be. I've seen a LOT of stuff erased that just doesn't belong in a 13+ site. This is a chess site, that doesn't mean there are not people that want to post shocking images or ideas... or have twisted ideas of what is right.
The alert system is used most every day, most often with good intentions and good reason.
Also RHP has rules about naming cheats, but some chess player's pride will make them write things they should be saving the feedback or fairplay tickets for.
Just my thoughts... nothing more.
