I hope this is not the Chandler we have here (greenpawn). Normally pirates seize ships and the shipping Cos pay the ransom. Who is going to pay the ransom here because the UK (and US I think) do not negotiate with terrorists or pirates I would think.

Nothing to do with my mob.

None of my kin could afford a boating holiday on Norfolk Broads never
mind going around the world in their own yacht.

It's a fairly common name as it's derived from Ship's Chandler and as
England/Britain is an island you would have (and still do) a Chandler's shop in every port.

I wish them well and hope they come through this unscathed.

We should form a crack commando squad and sneak up on the pirates and free the couple. I watched on the news the couple being asked on satellite phone whether they are ok and they said yes. Their location should be locatable since the satellite signal will lead us right to them.

I abhor violence.

Why can't we send Grampy Bobby to negotiate the captive's release?
He's a very articulate and reasonable fellow whose powers of persuasion could get these pirates to see the error of their ways.

The pirates will seize Grampy Bobby and demand a ransom for him too. No need to send Grampy Bobby. If you abhor violence, wear sun-glasses in case some physical pressure is needed to be applied to the pirates for them to realise the error of their ways.

Mr. Home, criminal seizures as well as other naval conflicts of this nature resolve with leveraged action (strategic sanctions,

blockade, starvation, tactical boarding, lethal force, etc) with the correct point of fulcrum. Wishful thinking sentiment must

become effectual deeds. Bleeding heart words won't cut it, nor will 1500 rhp members pushing on the wrong end of a scoop.

We know what towns the pirates congregate in all it takes is some backbone (lacking in the current POTUS) and a few FAE(Fuel Air Explosives) and the pirate problem would be resolved. As for collateral damage, well, that truly is regrettable
But then, thats what happens when you hang around with those types

So these poor pirates want only $7million... and anguishing souls in the Torments Compartment of Hades

want ice cubes. Everybody seems to want something these days. Commonsense dictates not to give them

even $7.00. Stupid to pattern criminal expectation and embolden evil behavior. Swift lethal force is the only

language these folks grasp. Speak it to them loud and clear in their own vernacular. Decisiveness matters.
