@chaney3said My emotional well being is relying on many thumbs up!!!
Here's a hint: If you actually start to make your life gel and live more righteously you will be disliked. In fact hated. Jesus was hated by the society in which he lived.
So, (and I realize your comment is a bit tounge in cheek) , in all seriousness, always stick by what YOU know to be true, despite how unpopular it may be. Thumbs downs will always come around but when they're not backed up by any words you can be fairly sure that the thumber doesn't really have anything to say to you other than that they dont like you, (most likely because you dont fit into their paradigm neatly )
@very-rustysaid We had a vote back some time ago on rather the person who did the thumbs up/down should be shown. I was in favour of showing the names, but our side got out voted severely . Shows you how many don't like the confrontation but don't mind doing the thumbs down anonymously.

agreed.
Or, and my idea was, that thumbs down should be accompanied by a short multiple choice of reasons for the thumb down.
Even if your post is simply unliked for no specific reason , there should be a corresponding letter to indicate this.
I believe this sort of function could weed out those who dont even read posts and just thumb down out of habit not to mention give the poster some notion of why their posts are unliked.
